The Intern's View
“I applied to THB’s Internship Programme after reading up on the insurance industry and the companies that operated within it. THB stood out due to their operations in the London insurance market and the wide range of business areas where I could see myself working.
I interned at THB for three months over the summer in their Worldwide Property division. From the day I started I was welcomed into the team and was given a variety of responsibilities. These ranged from completing admin tasks, to broking in Lloyd’s of London. A typical day consisted of preparing documents to show underwriters, meeting with underwriters and discussing existing accounts, as well as broking new accounts to them. This was one of the best parts of the job - getting to meet a variety of different people within the industry and acquiring a great overview of the London Market.
The work at THB was diverse, and every day was different, with a new challenge to complete. The experience was invaluable and I learnt a lot about the industry and the skills required to be a successful insurance broker.”
